Jamie is a partner in the Business Law Group at Goodmans LLP. His practice focuses on advising emerging companies in connection with venture financings, M&A, and corporate and commercial law matters, with a main focus on technology companies.

He acts for startups as well as established private and public companies in a wide range of industries, including information technology, healthcare, media, hospitality, manufacturing and industrial, retail and natural resources.

Jamie also acts as “legal counsel in residence” at the DMZ at Ryerson University, one of Canada’s largest business incubators for emerging tech startups. He has worked on a variety of significant transactions in healthcare and life sciences and recently:

• Acted for Ecosynthetix Inc., a biotechnology company which focuses on renewable polymers in connection with $100 million initial public offering
• Acted for Klass Capital Fund and other high net worth investors in connection with $2.5 million Series A investment in Alayacare, a home healthcare software platform & hardware ecosystem that provides a mix of telehealth and face-to-face visiting solutions
• Acted for a private genetic testing company in connection with convertible note financing and Series A financing
• Acted for seed investors in connection with a $1.1 million investment in Seamless MD, a cloud based, patient engagement solution for guiding patients through surgery
• Acted in connection with financing and corporate matters for Nightingale Informatix Corporation, a workflow based EMR solution designed to automate healthcare delivery processes
